Khanyisa Electrical Suppliers (KES) situated in Barbeque Downs Midrand was established in 1999 as suppliers of electrical equipment to large industry, corporate clients, manufacturing companies, electrical contractors and the general public.
Over the years, KES has been awarded distributorships for the AC/DC Dynamics product range, Schneider Electric incorporating the Merlin Gerin, Clipsal and Telemecanique products, Major-Tech Meters, Veti Switches and Plugs, Alvern Cables and Crabtree Products.
The company has 18 members of staff, of which 7 are allocated to the sales team, ensuring that we offer the very best of service and expertise to our clients. We are on the preferred suppliers list of a number of large corporate companies including NECSA, Siemens, Netcare, Discovery Health and Drake & Scull Facilities.
Due to the nature of some of our client’s core business we offer a 24 hour emergency supply service.
On the 25th Of November 2008, Khanyisa Electrical Suppliers and Siphakamile Holdings signed a shareholding agreement, resulting in Siphakamile Holdings, a wholly owned black consulting company, acquiring a thirty percent (30%) equity in Khanyisa Electrical Suppliers Pty LTD.
Khanyisa Electrical Suppliers is Level 3 BEE contributor.
Siphakamile Holdings was established in 2004 as a Project Management and Electrical Solutions advisory company. With their in-house qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Computer management, Project Consulting and other advisory fields, Siphakamile Holdings has enhanced our strategic objectives and allows both companies to leverage off each other’s proven strengths.
It has further created for Khanyisa the opportunity for company expansion and more importantly, it has lead to us being able to provide our high profile clients with complete solution sets, including those in the electrical saving and alternative energy fields.
The History of the Star T LED Technologies brand
In 2009 at marketing strategy meeting the shareholders identified the future limitations which would be imposed by Eskom on the supply of "new power" installations. Subsequent research showed that the lighting component, on Eskom bills for centres and offices, was on average the third most expensive item on the bill. It was for this reason that KES decided to investigate and source an effective energy saving LED lighting solution.
After 18 months of testing LED products from numerous suppliers in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong and attending relevant LED lighting shows, it became apparent to that no one sole supplier could proficiently supply all LED lighting options but that rather KES should identify a professional supplier for each product range and then have each range manufactured under our own brand.
It was for this reason that KES established and registered the Star T LED brand.
The Star T range now incorporates 12 and 220 volt down lights, LED Strip or ribbon lighting, grid lights and LED panel lights.
